Job Description

The Phoenix Plant is looking for a local Finance &Accounting analyst, a newly-created role, to help support the growth and capability of the site. The plant is a global producer of Metamucil, a fiber supplement that supports digestive health and lower cholesterol. The plant is undergoing exciting changes as we expand our organization, make significant capital investments, and work to support double-digit growth of the brand. As a result, this role will be critical in supporting the plant budget process, cost reviews, expense accounting, forecasting, and increased stewardship responsibilities.

I. Responsibilities

  • Monthly reconciliation of actuals vs. forecast

  • Coordination of monthly budget reviews with PS budget owners, Plant Finance Director, and Plant Manager

  • Champion forecast accuracy of +/- 3% and help put together the monthly forecast package

  • BARS PHC SPOC: Build BARS capability across the site and PHC organization with periodic training of site technicians and managers. BARS is the Company system for supply chain budgets, actuals, and forecasting.

  • SAP Compensating Control Owner (CCO), implementing appropriate segregation of duties across the site

  • Partner with the Plant Finance Director on improvements related to the site’s internal controls program (MAGICS)

  • Lead financial analysis for various value-accretive projects which deliver Net Savings (NS) to the business.

  • Assist with process simplification across Material Utilization (MU) tracking, the automation of Inventory Disposition Expense (IDE), and site budget tracking

  • Complete journal entries such as accruals, cross-charges, and accounting corrections

  • Master the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting work processes

  • Provide financial leadership to the central PHC F&A Management team to support the organization’s financial analysis and cost goals

Job Qualifications

The following skills will be considered/assessed through the Decision Analysis process

Prerequisites

  • Strong demonstrated collaboration skills (verbal and written) with ability to work in a team environment

  • Validated technical skills (Excel, other systems)

  • Forward-focused and able to troubleshoot issues before they occur

  • Accounting/Business Degree or Accounting course work preferred

  • Proven ability to spearhead work issue resolution

Desired Skills

  • Solid understanding of other computer programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Prior experience working in a plant or similar environment

  • Ability to perform financial analysis using the Net Present Value (NPV) model

Success Measures:

  • Maintain site forecast accuracy +/- 3%

  • Timely completion of accounting transactions

  • Improved internal controls scores

  • Demonstrated operational improvements

  • Demonstrated capability building and proficiency in BARS

Note: Expected to manage vacation/time off to meet month-end, quarterly, and year-end deadlines. Possible need to travel up to 1-2 times per year for training and/or conferences. Expected to work at the Phoenix plant M-F with limited work from home for incidental needs.

Just So You Know:

Starting Pay / Salary Range: $61,500 to $85,300
