The Materials and Structural Analysis (MSD) Electron Microscopy (EM) business offers advanced microscopy solutions for groundbreaking discoveries in micro-, nano-, and picometer scales.

How will you make an impact?
Field Service Engineer needed for Thermo Fisher Scientific's Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD or equivalent experience). Responsibilities include installing, servicing, and repairing equipment.
What will you do?
Conduct on-site installation of our equipment and follow testing procedures to ensure accurate working order
Conduct on-site scheduled planned maintenance visits
Provide repair support for customers and other field service personnel
Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, system users and company personnel
Complete technical training, as needed
Travel, often on short notice, to customer sites to resolve problems or support other field service personnel
Complete and submit field service reports
Be able to perform PM on assigned tools
Partner with colleagues to acquire technical knowledge to problem-solve systems solutions
Provide training for customers and users on system maintenance
Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting various Thermo Fisher system documentation
Act as a subject authority and resource for training
Minimum Qualifications
Possess a degree from a technical or undergrad program in electronics, computer science, physics or similar field with 2yr. degree or equivalent combination of skills and experience highly preferred
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
Experience with operating, repairing and calibrating sophisticated analysis tools such as SEM, TEM, FIB, Prober or similar systems is a plus but not required.
Experience with Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) (plus but not required).
Experience operating O-scopes and digital voltmeter.
Strong English language proficiency required for effective communication.
Literate in Windows software environments.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must have ability to acquire a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required.
Physical requirements include the ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Must be able to secure entrance to US Government laboratories and facilities, if required.
