Clean Harbors Facility Maint. Manager I in Phoenix, Arizona
Job Summary
This role is responsible for hands-on maintenance with a focus on mechanical applications while supervising a multi-shift, multi-trade maintenance department.
Pay: $52,000 year
Monday - Friday
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
Perform diverse functions including welding, pipe fitting, mechanical and electrical repairs, and preventive maintenance planning.
Manage purchasing and maintain spare/critical parts inventory.
Preventive Maintenance:
Maintain facility and plant equipment using preventive maintenance management systems to ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
Project & Resource Management:
Allocate resources for projects, schedule work, and follow up to meet production goals.
Contractor Coordination:
Ensure all contractor agreements and safety training are completed before engaging outside contractors.
Procurement & Administrative Support:
Oversee the procurement of equipment and supplies, handling purchase orders, invoice reconciliation, record keeping, and other administrative tasks.
Safety & Compliance:
Perform and document daily safety checks for forklift operations and operate a forklift when needed.
Uphold all Clean Compliance Standards to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Additional Duties:
Execute other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education: High school diploma plus specialized training or one year of college in general studies.
Experience: 3 to 5 years in a related maintenance field. Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Certificates and Licenses
Must possess a certification as a Welder, Mechanic, or in Pipe Fitting.
Forklift certification is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Proficiency in Windows-based applications.
Capable of assembling components and parts as required by manufacturers.
Solid knowledge of plant mechanical and electrical equipment and applications.
Travel
- Minimal travel required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role includes supervisory duties such as:
Hiring and training team members.
Scheduling work and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Recommending performance appraisals, promotions, compensation adjustments, corrective actions, and terminations.
Assisting with budgeting decisions.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and computer work, along with occasional bending, reaching, and light lifting.
Must be able to perform essential functions of the job, including operating a forklift and adhering to safety and compliance standards.
