ACCO Engineered Systems Director, Regional Safety in Phoenix, Arizona

JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for 1) Managing ACCO's safety programs through development, implementation, and management of the Company's safety policies, and 2) ensuring ACCO's compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws. This is an exempt management position, responsible for the supervision of all the Company's safety personnel located in the region. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Ensures a safe and healthy working environment for employees, customers, and the public. Acts as the technical construction safety consultant to Company management and personnel, ensuring that ACCO personnel comply with all relevant current labor laws and regulations as well as with new regulations affecting the industry and/or operations. Manages safety inspection and audit process for all divisions in the company located within the region. Collects, analyzes and prepares health and safety management information and statistical data reports necessary for planning and decision-making purposes. Facilitates cultural change to drive Company safety performance Develops safety-related training curricula, schedules, facilitates, and tracks training programs to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Manages safety personnel. Ensures resources are properly allocated. Represents ACCO in all safety & health-related hearings (Cal/OSHA, OSHA, EPA, etc.) in the region. Develops and implements incident investigation program. Ensures safety team members appropriately investigate all incidents and leads the investigation when a serious incident occurs. Identifies key injury and/or safety trends and communicates such to management. Works with the loss control representatives for the insurance carrier and insurance broker. Develops, implements, and monitors safety incentive/recognition programs. Ensures that the appropriate safety records are maintained. Leads the Safety Leadership Team meetings in the region. May act as company representative on issues relating to environmental protection concerns. Interfaces as necessary with environmental regulatory agencies and audits project site compliance with environmental protection requirements. Provide technical and administrative direction to on-site safety and first aid personnel; includes staffing and personnel administration activities with concurrence of Project Management. Assists in managing workers compensation claims, ensuring claims are efficiently handled. Prepare safety Related input for bid proposals. Mentor and coach management towards achieving an injury free culture. Participates in educational opportunities, reads professional and technical publications, maintains personal networks, and participates in professional organizations to maintain technical knowledge. Travel required throughout Northern California and occasionally outside the state. Activities may be necessary outside normal office hours depending on workload and schedules. Jobsite inspections may be performed in various weather conditions. Assume additional responsibilities as directed by company executives. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years industrial experience in safety or operations, preferably with related industries such as mechanical contracting or similar commercial/industrial construction Minimum 10 years of Safety/Safety Operations management experience Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Prefer an Occupational Health/Safety concentration) Extensive working knowledge of Federal, State and local regulatory compliance requirements, and OSHA Extensive working knowledge of hazard identification and incident investigation. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and office applications. Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with field personnel, internal office staff, contractor clients and staff, as well as government agencies and officials. Ability to design a
