DBM Global Application Developer - IT in Phoenix, Arizona

As an Application Developer at DBM Global, You will contribute to the development of custom in-house developed applications and aids the business in operating at a cost much less than external development. They are involved in the planning, analysis, design, development and execution of various integration and innovation initiatives to support efforts to automate business processes utilizing technology. They will partner with business users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify complex technology project objectives. This role will be part of a core, small team of individuals responsible for providing solutions that will support the company's business initiatives.

Job Overview -

  • Partner with Business Owners to gather requirements.

  • Identify needs for business improvement and translate into requirements.

  • Translate Business requirements into technical stories.

    Design:

  • Manage and contribute to the design of the in-house developed applications to meet the business requirements, following technical best practices. This includes UI and data capture for reporting to the business.

  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot software to satisfy organizational demand.

  • Develop and maintain GUIs using design techniques.

  • Develop and maintain new and existing web-based and client/server applications.

  • Assist in the design of relational databases.

  • Write test plans and user acceptance testing cases for quality assurance.

  • Contribute to improve the performance of applications via load and stress testing.

  • Create custom ad-hoc reports.

  • Deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting production released applications.

  • Testing of applications / solutions through various deployment regions to ensure reliability and meet performance specifications.

    Operational:

  • Ensure that the design, application, documentation, and maintenance of software meets business needs.

  • Technical expertise and understanding of all applications we use across our platform of companies.

  • Ensure coding standards, and best practices are followed by development team members.

  • Ensure branching and merging strategies are followed.

  • Identify and mitigate technical risks in the software development life cycle (SDLC)

  • Mentoring, coaching, training, and technical guidance of junior team members

  • Encouraging a culture of learning and collaboration

  • Adherence with, and contribution to, internal development processes and systems, e.g., Agile, Scrum, Kanban, etc.

  • Advanced level knowledge of .Net (C#), SQL, JavaScript, Angular (6+)

  • Experience and knowledge of Web API, JSON, SOA, and ORMs (entity framework)

  • Familiar with microservices and containers

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies (e.g. Waterfall, Iterative, Agile)

  • Experience designing graphical user interfaces is preferable but not required

  • Experience with 3D software integrations is preferable, but not required

    Work Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in application development

    Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required (Proven experience can substitute for degree requirement).

    Software & Technology:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio (C#)

  • .net Framework and .net Core

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • Modern web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox)

  • Azure DevOps (VisualStudio.com) #LI-KF1
