US Field Medical Manager, Radiology (Northeast)
The US Field Medical Manager, Radiology is responsible for providing scientific and objective medical information to healthcare providers and researchers in therapeutic areas of interest to Bayer Radiology. The Medical Manager (MM) is responsible for developing and executing clinical/medical education strategies and providing tailored training via in person, virtual and hybrid environments and serves as medical and scientific support in the field for healthcare providers ensuring safe and effective use of Bayer products including timely adverse event reporting and responses to unsolicited requests for detailed product, and disease state information. The MM also develops a complete understanding of local, national and regional experts/thought leaders in specific therapeutic categories and the healthcare environment in which they work and assists customers with best practices and a deep understanding of Radiology workflow. The MM will collaborate with internal business partners as an expert consultant to meet specific scientific needs of internal and external contacts within specific therapeutic and geographic areas and will represent the company at scientific conferences, symposiums, and medical meetings and act as the main scientific acumen for the customer squad assigned to.
This position will cover the Northeast and is Residence/Field Based. Prefer Candidates that live NJ, NY, PA, CT, MA.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, US Field Medical Manager, Radiology (Northeast), are to:
Thought Leader Engagement:
Criteria based selection and validation to identify and confirm Thought Leaders (TL) status;
Research site identification and investigator-initiated research (IIR) support;
Speaker training and evaluation;
Advisory board coordination, workshop leadership and/or presentation at advisory board;
Coordinates National/International TLs engagement with senior management and other key internal partners.
Direct Scientific Exchange:
Presentations to external audiences;
Timely, accurate, specific, and balanced responses to professional requests for information (PIR) in collaboration with Medical Communications
Adherence to SOP and FDA guidance for distribution of scientific information;
Adherence to SOP and compliance guidelines for all external contacts;
Prepares and presents data to internal audiences including MA and Commercial partners;
Provides inputs for developing materials for internal and external use.
Maintenance of Scientific Expertise:
Complete core training curriculum and basic MSL Certification;
Full participation in therapeutic area updates and/or training initiatives e.g., journal clubs;
Medical conference attendance and reviews;
Routine self-paced reading of current publications;
Professional licensure with CEU documentation where applicable;
Completes recertification and advanced certification were applicable;
Identify customer Medical/Clinical needs & challenges within the suite. Clinically and medically differentiate the features and value of Bayer products/ solutions and services across Radiology product portfolio;
Assist customer on basic protocol adaptation and answer to any focused/ alternative protocols inquiries for the best outcome for patients;
Ensure a good alignment and collaboration between internal Bayer stakeholders including R&D, clinical and Commercial teams;
Drive high customer satisfaction and experience;
Regularly report relevant competitive activity;
Identify account / hospital influence level for input into commercial segmentation.;
Drive scientific discussions on patient needs and data gaps, e.g., IIRs.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Experience as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or Clinical Application specialist in Pharma/Medical device (Radiology) company;
Strong understanding of Radiology and associated IT workflows;
Strong presentation, verbal, and communication skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Working knowledge of FDA, OIG requirements;
Ability to travel up to 50% as needed;
Valid Driver’s License and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Radiologic Technologist (RT) is preferred;
At least 5 years of industry work experience preferred;
AART certified is preferred;
Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D., D. Pharm) in Pharmacology, Radiology, Medicine, Physics, Chemistry or a related field is favorable.
CIIP Certification is preferred.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $145,112 to $217,668. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc... This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
