RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Hardware and Software Procurement: Technical evaluation and selection of hardware/software based on technical requirements and Government constraints

  • Operating System (OS) Installation and Setup: Provide expertise in installing various operating systems and ensuring proper configuration

     

  • Utilize or develop scripts for automating repetitive installation and configuration tasks

  • Virtual Machine (VM) Development and Setup: Creation of virtual environments tailored to the project's needs

  • Ensure VMs are properly configured and perform as expected

  • Software/Firmware Installation: Deploy software and firmware updates to various hardware devices

  • Manage software versions to ensure consistency across devices

  • Testing: Conduct thorough testing to ensure hardware and software components function seamlessly

  • Efficiently identify, document, and resolve any bugs or issues

  • Cybersecurity Awareness: Communicate effectively with the program cybersecurity lead

  • Stay updated on the latest security standards and apply them diligently

  • Software Functionality: Engage with program stakeholders to understand and gather requirements

  • Ensure updates or changes in the system configuration do not hinder or restrict software functionality

  • Conduct thorough analysis of proposed updates or changes to identify potential impacts on software functionality

  • Implement preventative measures and adjustments to configurations or software as needed to maintain uninterrupted functionality

  • Document all identified impacts, potential risks, and taken measures to ensure a comprehensive record for future references and continuous improvement

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Associate Degree from accredited University in IT, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in IT

  • One of the following certifications: CISSP (or associate), CCNP Security, CISA, GCED, GCIH

  • Proficiency with Windows and Linux Operating Systems, including the installation and configuring of software applications

  • Systems Administration experience to include user management, system monitoring, and performance tuning

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently

  • Requires a Secret Security Clearance and US Citizenship

    Responsibilities of this position also include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending mandatory, annual training sessions

  • Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination

  • Attending recurring team meetings or huddles

  • Assisting in the development of new initiatives
