What you'll do here
As an SAP Quality Assurance Lead at Cengage, you will help test software, integrated systems, and web applications to ensure that our systems and projects are working as designed (and required). You will mentor and coach other QA engineers and engineering team members in quality assurance practices, skills, and tools.
The SAP QA Test Lead is responsible for end-to-end QA and testing delivery on an SAP S4 Hana Implementation project. This position owns:
Test planning.
Test design.
Test execution implementing SAP Activate methodology to ensure quality of delivery.
You will also be responsible for leading QA within large multi-functional projects and development, playing a vital role in defining the direction and setting goals. You will ensure solutions are “Fit for purpose” (i.e. the product should be suitable for the intended purpose); and “Right first time” (i.e. mistakes should be eliminated).
CORE Responsibilities include:
Apply standard processes to consistently and efficiently implement S4 Hana, following the "Activate" methodology used by SAP in similar projects.
Writing Testing documentation such as Test strategy, Test Scope, and Test plan documents
Efficient operation and continuous improvement of testing processes and practices
Familiar with “string test” concept and E2E test design
Building and maintaining testing libraries to ensure libraries are kept up to date
Involvement in full SDLC to identify QA needs, constraints, and dependencies early on.
This role requires SAP S4 testing hands-on and leading responsibilities experience.
Test Lead Responsibilities include:
Assisting with coordination of QA resources across multiple workstreams.
Planning and delivery of testing landmarks for projects
Solving issues (in QA or on live) as assigned.
Identifying, designing, and assisting with implementation of QA automation.
Performing manual test cases, defect logging and initial defect triage.
Crafting and coordinating technical and user documentation.
Supervising onshore/offshore QA team and 3rd party vendors, by providing oversight and direction to the teams, coordination of testing activities, workload/delegation, timelines etc.
Skills You'll Need Here:
10+ years of relevant software development quality assurance experience and a consistent track record writing manual test case, test plans, and test execution in S4 HANA SAP implementation projects
Atleast 6+ years of ERP S4 HANA Testing experience across workstreams and minimum 4+ years of Test lead experience in ERP S4 HANA implementation projects successfully
Travel to Cengage office at KY or Mason or Boston for Project testing support and Organization meetings as needed.
Highly Proficient in Test documentation and standard SAP processes w.r.t understanding the requirement documentations, process flows, RICEFWs, create all test design artifacts like test scripts and perform execution when required.
Build kick-off decks, plans- Build Test cases (OTC, PTP, RTR) working with Functional leads and Test Closure reports.
Strong leadership skills to guide the SAP testing team in planning, completing, and managing comprehensive testing strategies for SAP implementations, upgrades, and improvements.
Work with other SAP/non-SAP application teams during Integration testing cycles into the final solution to accommodate activities needed for the successful delivery of the S4 Hana Coordinate and plan UAT engaging business partners and SMEs during UAT preparation and execution.
Generate and develop daily Test status reports for design, execution, and defects.
Handle test data creation, maintenance, and validation to simulate real-world scenarios and accurately assess system performance.
Coordinate triage activities for sprints and SIT/UAT cycles with respective teams.
Conduct risk assessments and prioritize testing efforts to ensure critical business processes and functionalities are thoroughly validated. Anticipate any problems and promptly advise collaborators on the project.
Extensive experience in leading QA (and UAT) in fast paced S4 implementations
Collaborate with PMO, Program/Project Managers, QA manager, business analyst, QA analyst, SI Team, and other team members to ensure timely completion of test activities based on project requirements.
Very strong written and verbal communication with active listening skills and the ability to tightly collaborate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical personnel via various communication channels.
Independent problem-solving/analytical skills with good hands-on and participate in any phase of testing (test design/execution) when situation arises.
Self-motivated and proactive individual who works well independently or as part of a team.
Enforce QA tool usage standards on projects, such as Jira and Zephyr, to maintain the test repository, complete test cycles, and manage defects.
Familiar with Agile methodology and Sprint ceremonies.
Participate and lead Sprint Testing as needed for PROD application support and plan the Sprint regression as needed.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
