University of Pennsylvania Research Assistant Professor, Department of Neurosurgery - The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure research track. Expertise is required in the specific area of machine learning and deep learning applications, specifically pertaining to neuroimaging of pediatric brain tumors, along with a relevant publication track record in the field of pediatric radiomics and radiogenomics. Other required set of skills and expertise should include knowledge of biomedical image analysis, handling of large imaging datasets, and the integration of radiomics with other omics data, particularly with the capacity to adeptly navigate complex data science. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Research or scholarship responsibilities may include undertaking both collaborative and independent research in the field of pediatric brain tumors, utilizing state-of-the-art computational neuroimaging techniques, with a specific emphasis on machine learning and deep learning methodologies, orchestrating efforts related to NIH-funded grants in coordination with local, national, and international collaborators, facilitating the seamless execution of research projects, and authoring and compiling grant proposals, comprehensive reports, and scholarly manuscripts, while simultaneously augmenting our research endeavors in the multi-omic domain.
Preferred applicant should have related post-doc experience in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills, a proven history of involvement in grant applications, and supervisory skills including mentoring and overseeing junior researchers, students, and staff.
