Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic is looking for an experienced Regional Medical Staff Coordinator to join our Credentialing team!

Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift (Monday - Friday) / No weekends or holidays!

This person will be required to be on-site at Nazareth Hospital. For the right candidate, there is one remote day available after 3 months of hire.

The Medical Staff Coordinator will assist the THMA Regional Director of Medical Affairs for Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, the staff in the Medical Staff offices, and the Vice President Medical Affairs in carrying out the credentialing, administration, and coordinating activities of the Medical Staff Offices within the Mid-Atlantic Region. Will exercise good judgment and confidentiality in accordance with Hospital and Medical Staff policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Assists in the Medical Staff appointment/reappointment process as required by Medical Staff bylaws, policies and procedures, as well as National association of Medical Staff Services and Joint Commission standards for credentialing. All file preparation for Credentials, MEC and Board approval. Working in collaboration with Trinity Health CPI/ CVO.

  • Coordinates and maintains in a timely manner the appointment/reappointment process, for all allied health care professionals as required by Medical Staff bylaws, policies and procedures, as well as National Association of Medical Staff Services and Joint Commission standards of credentialing.

  • Assist in supporting Mid-Atlantic Regional ACO/CIN; CVO; St. Mary Rehab Hospital and LIFE St. Mary. This includes data entry, tracking and other duties as assigned.

  • Monitors and maintains records for all residents/ students rotating (not internal residents) in the hospital. Ensures the medical staff office is the first point of contact to present identification and obtain a badge.

  • Assists in maintaining currently credentialed practitioners’ insurances, licenses, and Drug Enforcement Administration licenses on file, by initiating an appropriate report for monitoring this and requesting and verifying updates upon expiration. Maintaining copies as needed.

  • Prepares meeting notices, dietary arrangements, agendas and records minutes at monthly clinical department and committee meetings within the Mid-Atlantic Region. Follows through on all recommendations, correspondence and/or directives, channeling actions from one meeting to another as appropriate.

  • Works in collaboration with the THMA Regional Director, Medical Affairs with projects including but not limited to, Quality projects, IT requests, provider access requests, production of the Medical Staff directory. Prepares Statements, Deposits and tracks the Medical Staff Treasury. Prepares monthly report to MEC and quarterly report for the Medical Staff.Prepares reports as requested by Medical Staff leadership and/or Administration.Assists in maintaining physician database of 3500 practitioner demographics within the THMA Region.

  • Prepares and reviews OPPE reports every 6 months in collaboration with Physician Leadership and Quality Department. Prepares FPPE for initial applicants Or for cause, etc. in collaboration with Physician Leadership and Quality Department. Ensures it has been completed within established time frame.

  • Assists with telephones in the Medical Staff Office, answering questions or offering referrals when appropriate.Files all credentialing documents and assigned meeting documents and minutes.

  • Supports the THMA Regional Director and other Medical Staff Office colleagues whenever requested.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma Required; Associate's Degree in related field highly preferred

  • At least 3-5 years' credentialing experience, preferably in the acute care setting required.

  • NAMSS certification, CPMSM or CPCS (must be certified within 2 yrs of hire)
