Project Manager- Business Development - 163857

POSITION PURPOSE: This position will be the quarterback of bringing all departments that touch new business, and retained business together. Responsibilities include: New bids, contracts, financials and proposals.

EEO/VETERANS/DISABLED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: * Financial work with Region Director of Finance to develop the specific account proforma (utilizing either a P&L or DIY profroma, depending on volume). * Ensure all expenses are covered in the proposed deal. * Legal - work with legal to develop a contract with wording the customer and UNFI can agree to. * Sales- work with the sales team to identify upcoming rebids, RFP's, and potential new business targets. * Develop the capabilities presentation and customer specific plan for the customer. * Travel as required to customer locations. * On board- work with broader on-boarding team once bid is agreed to ensure customer ship dates, product specs, and pricing execution. * Pricing- Work with pricing department to 'bounce' files from the customer during the bid process to ensure we accurately identify products and pricing of current inventory. * Work with Category Management to 'bounce' customer files to recommend improvements. * Work with strategic business units to ensure the agreement is executed for their products/categories. * Performs other job duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: EXPERIENCE: * related field or equivalent training and experience * 3+ years of experience in the food distribution industry * 3+ years of experience in managing large scale projects working with multiple departments * 3+ years of sales experience * System Implementation preferred

KNOWLEDGE: * Knowledge and understanding of company products and business units * Working knowledge of sales forecasting, programs and related techniques * Working knowledge of Profit and Loss Statements * Working knowledge of margin and company profitability * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

SKILLS/ABILITIES: * Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills * Ability to interact at all levels of the business * Ability to manage and coordinate projects * Comfortable in a highly open, dynamic and collaborative company culture * Ability to work in a fast paced, sales team environment * Demonstrated ability to drive new business and close sales * The ability to exceed at; customer service skills, problem solving, attention to detail and organizational skills
