Pharmacy - Inpatient

Full Time- Day Shift

Under the direct supervision of Registered Pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks: assisting in the preparing and filling of medication orders and medication carts; compounding sterile and non-sterile preparation; distributing medication to patients; performing nursing unit QA inspections; maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital.

High School Diploma or equivalent and Certified Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is required. This person must be able to perform dosage calculations; have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of hospital personnel; perform basic office environment tasks; have the aptitude to maintain proficiency in all Pharmacy computer systems, automated dispensing cabinet software and systems, and all technical equipment required to perform duties; and possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and the Internet. Additionally, this person is expected to satisfactorily pass required hospital and government validation examinations. Some college and prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred, with a basic working knowledge of drugs and dosages.
