ARAMARK Painter - Presbyterian Med Center/Univ of PA-POM in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description

The Painter is responsible for painting, varnishing, staining, enameling, and/or lacquering surfaces on both existing and new construction within a healthcare facility. This role serves both decorative and preventive purposes, ensuring that the facility maintains a high standard of appearance and safety. Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.

Pay Rate: $30.97/hr

Job Responsibilities

  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by washing, scraping, dissolving, and/or burning off old paint. Remove and replace wall fixtures as needed.

  • Repair Work: Repair and plaster walls, patch holes and cracks, fill joints, and smooth surfaces with sandpaper as necessary.

  • Painting & Finishing: Select and prepare paints, stains, or varnishes. Paint or cover surfaces as required.

  • Customer Service: Maintain a friendly and efficient Spirit of Service attitude towards customers, co-workers, and clients.

  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all established systems and training programs to ensure a safe working environment. Comply with OSHA regulations and other local, state, and federal government regulations.

  • Patient Care: Recognize and adopt activities appropriate to the specific needs of the patient/resident population, demonstrating knowledge of specific issues directly related to the age of the patient/resident population.

  • Record Keeping & Compliance: Maintain compliance with Aramark?s standards of operation, client contracts, and Business Conduct Policy. Ensure all records and reports are maintained to comply with Aramark/HSS, government, and accrediting agency standards, regulations, and codes.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, including the Civil Rights Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

  • Additional Duties: Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma, accredited technical school diploma, or GED required.

Experience: 1-2 years of general painting experience necessary.

Skills: Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally. Basic math skills. Ability to work well under time constraints. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Work Environment: Must be able to work in environments exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, and the risk of electrical shock.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
