Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

ComEd Manage the Asset Information & System Policy (AISP) Department which includes providing first level business support and governance responsibilities for ComEd large-scale IT systems (Passport, Artemis 7, TED/CE*GIS, OMS, Cascade, Mobile Dispatch, Hyperion Reporting, ARCOS and LMS). Provide subject matter expertise to ensure efficient and effective utilization of applications by the user community, partner with IT to maintain a high level of application availability and reliability. Represent the user in assuring effective upgrades, development and implementation of strategic system applications. Identify, prioritize and coordinate business process changes. PECO Lead the Application Support function, which includes responsibility for all major applications (OMS, Passport, Mobile Data, ARCOS etc.) used by PECO Operations. Provide subject matter expertise to support key business application support initiatives. Represent the user in assuring effective upgrades, development and implementation of strategic system applications. Develop and maintain an environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, and high productivity. BGE Lead the Application Support function, which includes providing first level business support, system administration and governance for BGE large scale engineering, operations, work, and asset management IT applications. Provide proactive subject matter expertise to ensure efficient and effective utilization of applications by users. Represent the user in assuring effective upgrades, development and implementation of strategic system applications. Respond to business users by resolving issues and questions about application functionality, usability, data integrity, and process issues. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

Primary Duties

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • ComEd --

  • Proactively interface with other ComEd Departments to promote, as well as manage the resources required to initiate, develop, and implement new business applications. Assist Business Stakeholders and/ or Application Project Teams in development of work practices, job aids, procedures and process documents, along with business application tools and equipment that focus on increased productivity and reduced cost. (10%)

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and budget for AISP. Establish and monitor business plans and department objectives, including performance indicators to monitor performance against goals. Balance cost control with expenditures to support T & D and Operations' application needs. (40%)

  • Provide leadership to, and development of, the AISP Department: Develop, implement and monitor all aspects of personnel development plans. Provide leadership, direction, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, and discipline, if appropriate, in the management and development of the application support staff in conjunction with the identification of self-development opportunities for growth and learning. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct Performance Reviews and identify opportunities for growth and learning. (15%)

  • Promote and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. Lead the AISP Department in promoting diversity. Serve as a change agent for business applications and ensure that the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions. (15%)

  • Interface with other departments representing AISP to other business units regarding major ComEd applications and business process issues and investments. (10%)

  • Facilitate open and honest communication within AISP, end Business Unit stakeholders and the PECO AISP Department. Ensure that open, upward communication is integrated into the process, including employee complaints. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives. (5%)

  • Sponsor and lead cross-organizational teams for performance improvement, consistent processes and application utilization. (5%)

  • PECO --

  • Proactively interface with other PECO Departments to promote, as well as manage the resources required to initiate, develop, and implement new business applications, work practices job aids and procedures, along with business application tools and equipment that focus on increased productivity and reduced cost. (35%)

  • Provide leadership, direction, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, and discipline, if appropriate, in the management and development of the application support staff in conjunction with the identification of self-development opportunities for growth and learning. (20%)

  • Prepare, approve, and manage departmental strategy, goals and budgets within assigned areas of responsibility. Utilize key financial & performance indicators to measure business performance. (10%)

  • Sponsor and provide sustaining support for collaborative working relationships with counterparts in Exelon to leverage synergies. (10%)

  • Provide and manage the allocation of "Subject Matter Expertise" in as it relates to key business applications, and other special projects to assist the business to better improve the use of its business applications. (15%)

  • Assure timely response to all application support questions submitted to the various support phone lines. (10%)

  • BGE --

  • Assure timely response to all application support questions, issues, problems, etc. submitted to the department. Provide and manage the allocation of "Subject Matter Expertise" as it relates to supported applications, and other special projects to assist the business to better improve the use of its business applications. (35%)

  • Provide leadership, direction, performance appraisals, coaching, counseling, and discipline, if appropriate, in the management and development of the Application Support staff in conjunction with the identification of self-development opportunities for growth and learning. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct Performance Reviews and identify opportunities for growth and learning. (20%)

  • Proactively interface with other BGE Departments to promote, as well as manage the resources required to initiate, develop, and implement new business applications that focus on increased productivity and reduced cost. (15%)

  • Prepare, approve, and manage departmental strategy, goals and budgets within assigned areas of responsibility. Utilize key financial & performance indicators to measure business performance. (15%)

  • Promote and maintain an environment that fosters a high performance culture and a learning organization. Lead the Application Support Department in promoting diversity & inclusion. Serve as a change agent for business applications and ensure that the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions. (15%)

Job Scope

JOB SCOPE

  • ComEd

  • Manage a total staff of between 18-22 direct reports supporting applications for ComEd

  • Provide support and expertise for all major applications supporting ComEd employees and a customer base of over 3.5 million.

  • Manage the functional area budget of 3 million dollars.

  • Utilize communications, project management, performance management and development skills on a daily basis as he/she interfaces with their staff as well as various levels of the organization, from field employee to uppermost senior management to meet customer response as it relates to business applications, job aids, work practices and business application tools.

  • Interface collaboratively with all areas within BSC IT, ComEd and PECO including, but not limited to: T & D, Operations, and Customer Operations.

  • Support and participate in the Emergency Response program.

  • FTE Range: 18-22

  • PECO

  • Manage a total staff of between 8 - 11 direct reports and numerous indirect reports supporting applications for PECO

  • Provide support and expertise for all major applications supporting PECO employees and customer base.

  • Manages the functional area budget.

  • Utilizes communications, project management, performance management and development skills on a daily basis as he/she interfaces with their staff as well as various levels of the organization, from field employee to uppermost senior management to meet customer response as it relates to business applications, job aids, work practices and business application tools.

  • Interfaces collaboratively with all areas within the Exelon Corporation including, but not limited to: Operations, Engineering and Support Services.

  • Leads team meetings; develop monthly work plans, helpdesk coverage schedules and various other activities that aid in the service of our customers.

  • Support and participate in the Emergency Response program.

  • FTE Range: 8-11

  • BGE

  • Manage a total staff of between 8 - 11 direct reports supporting applications for BGE

  • Provide support and expertise for BGE large scale enterprise wide applications supporting BGE employees

  • Manages the functional area budget.

  • Utilizes communications, project management, performance management and development skills on a daily basis as he/she interfaces with their staff as well as various levels of the organization, from field employee to uppermost senior management to meet customer response as it relates to business applications, job aids, work practices and business application tools.

  • Interfaces collaboratively with all areas within the Exelon Corporation including, but not limited to: Operations, Engineering and Support Services.

  • Support and participate in the Emergency Response program.

  • FTE Range: 8-11

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in science, business, education, computer science, engineering or related fields required AND 7-10 years of relevant experience.

  • 3-5 years of demonstrated leadership, supervisory or management experience within functional area.

  • Demonstrated abilities in the areas of leadership, team building, coaching, facilitating business competency, communication, negotiation, change management, project and budgetary management

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including new technologies and work practice enhancements.

  • Proven performance management skills

  • Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to implement change and consistent practices to create business value.

  • Computer skills in MS Office and other Windows based applications

  • In lieu of degree, 9-12 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Software Development Knowledge System Architecture Understanding Agile Methodologies

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
