Jacobs Jr. Overhead Contact System (OCS) Engineer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Jacobs is seeking a Jr. Overhead Contact System (OCS) Engineer in Training to work with our OCS team. This role will involve the preparation of Catenary layout plans and wire profiles, Catenary support structures, including cantilevers, portals, head spans, OCS hardware and grounding and Bonding. This position could be located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Baltimore, Maryland, Washington, District of Columbia, New York City, New York, Irvine, California or Seattle, Washington. Travel may be required for this position.

When you join us, you will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team environment on modifications to existing catenary systems as well as new systems. You’ll interact with engineers from other firms as well as transit and rail authorities and heavy rail entities on OCS designs and interfaces with other related disciplines. As a Jr. OCS Engineer you will develop initial design concepts and labor estimates for proposals as well as create and provide presentations of OCS and associated systems designs to customers.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

• Previous design experience with rail and transit projects

• Familiarity with OCS engineering elements

• Passed the FE exam

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications

• Previous experience with MicroStation/AutoCAD
