Brown and Caldwell, a national environmental engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level engineer to join our New Jersey and Pennsylvania teams within our Private Sector Business Unit (PSBU). The ideal candidate will provide engineering support for a variety of remediation and design projects and project management support to our project managers. We are seeking a motivated, achievement-oriented individual who can accept increasing levels of project support and management responsibilities and help us fulfill our commitment to deliver client success on each and every project we undertake. You will work with and be mentored by nationally recognized, senior technical and project management staff. The ideal candidate should have strong verbal and written communication skills, be highly organized and capable of working in a diverse team environment and handling multiple tasks with competing priorities Detailed Description: Perform engineering work in various engineering fields with an emphasis on remediation, site investigation and regulatory reporting. Lead engineering evaluations, execute design calculations, and prepare reports, plans, and specifications with support of senior level engineering staff Lead administrative and project management related tasks for various engineering and remediation projects, including management of subconsultants Interface directly with Clients and third-party construction managers, present engineering findings Support environmental studies, permitting and alternative analyses Perform field activities such as site investigations Data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation Supervise, delegate and manage the work of technical staff and junior engineers, as needed Assist with business development pursuits writing technical proposals and assisting with budgeting. Lead project pursuits of small and moderate size Desired Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or related) required; Master's preferred Candidate should either have an EIT or be willing/able to obtain an EIT in the near term Five to ten plus years of professional experience preferred Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are essential Strong verbal/written communication skills and ability to work well independently and in team environments Candidate must be willing and able to travel for daily and short-term field assignments Possess 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification with current 8-hour refresher or have the ability to take and pass the training/physical Must be willing to work in the field and able to perform physical work (see requirements below) Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety, quality, and schedule. Ability to work for short periods of time in hot and cold weather (occasionally extreme conditions). Ability to wear required personal protective equipment at sites including hard hats, steel toed boots (or other approved toe protection), safety glasses, safety vests, respirators, etc. Ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting field conditions or critical construction operations Ability to walk slowly around sites of varying size that may have areas of uneven, muddy, and/or rocky ground to perform inspections and take photographs. Ability to lift objects less than 30 pounds Ability to remain alert and vigilant while working around construction equipment and be able to walk swiftly for a short distance to clear an area where a potential hazard is identified. Ability to climb stairs (2-3 flights) or ladders (up to 24 foot typically) to access structures for visual inspection.

Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, nd education.  These ranges may be modified in the future.
