*Provide technical leadership in designing and developing new software within the RDK stack using C, Embedded C, and C++ in a Linux environment; work with WiFi IEEE 802.11 standards; interface 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers into applications; work with DOCSIS cable modem protocol; triage and maintain software using AWS and Java Spring Boot; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; guide and mentor junior-level engineers; provide proactive and reactive analysis of field issues and ensure product quality by identifying key issues and driving them to closure; use various device and cloud metrics for proactive data analysis, and also develop inhouse tools which help automate the triage efforts; ensure faster CPE firmware with enhanced user experience; prioritize performance or technical issues, Service Level Agreements for developing fixes, Quality Assurance validation, release rollout and route non-CPE issues for respective teams; perform deep dive of issues by providing source code level analysis; and publish improvements in releases to a wider audience. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy. *

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience developing software within the RDK stack using C, Embedded C, and C++ in a Linux environment; working with WiFi IEEE 802.11 standards; of which three (3) years include interfacing 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers into applications; working with DOCSIS cable modem protocol; of which year (1) year includes triaging and maintaining software using AWS and Java Spring Boot.*
