This is full performance level electrical systems work in the alteration, installation, maintenance and repair of the City's electrical infrastructure, wire and cable/lines.  An employee in this class performs preventive maintenance of the systems and repairs a wide variety of the system components and equipment.  This class is differentiated from the lower level class in the series by the responsibility for independently performing the full scope of electrical troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing work.  Work is performed under the supervision of a technical supervisor and involves physical effort and exposure to disagreeable environmental conditions

Education equivalent to the completion of the 12th school grade

Four years of experience instgalling, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment powered by at least 440 volts

Completion of a post high scholol electrician trades program from an accredited technical institue, trade school or college

Possesion of a valid proper class motorvehicles operators license, Possession of a valid Electrical Contractors license issued by Philadelphia Deparment of Licenses and Inspections
