ERT Director/ Senior Director Software Engineering and Maintenance in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Reference #: R14917 Primary Responsibilities Responsible for leading the development resources and overseeing the efficient management and coordination to support short-term software development projects and technical change orders for deployed software in the field at high volume and scale.

Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement strategic plans for resource allocation and technical coordination to support eCOA study delivery and other business objectives. Lead a team of resource managers, development managers and coordinators to ensure optimal allocation of technical resources across multiple projects to impeccable quality. Provide visionary leadership to drive continuous improvement and innovation in resource management processes to increase efficiency, maximize quality and optimize delivery timelines for customers.

Resource Management: Oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive resource management system to support technical change orders and short-term projects. Ensure efficient allocation of resources based on skill sets, availability, and project requirements, balancing workloads across the team. Monitor resource utilization and implement strategies to address bottlenecks and optimize resource efficiency. Share knowledge and progress to other parts of the delivery chain positively influencing the wider organization.

Coordination and Communication: Serve as the primary point of escalation for quality, delivery and resource-related issues and concerns. Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings with project managers, team leads, and stakeholders to discuss resource needs and availability. Ensure clear and effective communication of resource assignments and project expectations to team members.

Monitoring and Reporting: Track and report on resource allocation, utilization, and project progress, providing regular updates to senior leadership. Identify and address any resource conflicts, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing project disruptions. Develop and present consolidated reports on ongoing studies and resource management outcomes.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for resource management and allocation, leveraging industry standards and innovative approaches. Evaluate and enhance resource management tools and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the resource management function.

Budget and Regulatory Compliance: Provide input for budget preparation and management, ensuring efficient use of resources. Understand and adhere to regulatory requirements, maintaining and improving relevant SOPs and SWIs for eCOA study delivery. Ensure team members are trained on SOPs and SWIs, holding them accountable for compliance.

Mentorship and Development: Mentor and support team members, sharing expertise and knowledge about resource management and technical coordination. Develop and implement career development plans for staff, fostering high engagement and professional growth. Support new team members in understanding their roles and responsibilities within the organization.

Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by: Reading, understanding, and adhering to organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Participating in the modification of company SOPs related to the therapeutic team Leading in the development of team SOPs, QRGs, and Work Instructions.

Secondary Responsibilities Contribute to team effort by: Working with internal staff to resolve issues Helping others to achieve results Performing other duties as assigned

Maintain technical and industry knowledge by: Attending and participating in applicable company-sponsored training Maintaining a strong understanding of industry trends and applicable technology

Qualifications: Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent working experience. Degree preferred in IT, Co puter Science, Technology or Science/Medicine

Experience Minimum of 10 years of management/supervisory experience at a comparable level, with a proven ability to lead remote teams. 10+ years of experience in managing projects in a multi-project environment. Extensive experience in technical project management and overall technical insight. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and project management methodologies. Experience in database queries, data schemas, and GMP documentation. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to read and understand technical documentation in English. A self-developing mindset and a commitment to continuous learning.
