Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Principal Gifts, the Development Associate provides high level support for fundraising activities related to Development and Principal Gifts, including providing administrative support to the Associate Vice President of Development and the Assistant Vice President of Development. This includes but is not limited to providing high level customer service to donors, alumni and friends, and facilitating work with constituents in central advancement, schools, and units. The Development Associate is responsible for coordinating routine and dynamic tasks including: all stewardship communications and operations, fundraising support, supporting communications with internal and external partners, and directing special projects/event logistics.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience working in a fast-paced development/administrative role with experience working directly with volunteers, corporations, and organizational stakeholders. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite; especially Excel. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with good attention to details. Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills. Sound judgement and decision-making ability in complex environments. Self-motivation and ability to meet deadlines independently. Strong calendar management and work ethic skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and external clients.

Preferred:

Experience with formulating queries in query-based systems, for retrieving desired data. Experience with web page design (building, updating and monitoring, etc.) Experience working with higher education institutions or large complex non-profit organizations

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
