This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & Team Overview

The Comcast Voice & Content Retrieval team is looking for a passionate and skilled engineer to work on a voice recognition system that millions of people use daily. Imagine being the decision maker of whether someone wants to watch a movie, check their internet bill, play music, or open the garage door? As a member of A Xfinity Voice Agent team, you would be thinking of solutions to those challenges. Working closely with our Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) teams to come up with innovative solutions over a broad scope. Example domains include video, music, customer support and home automation. Example devices include TVs, Streaming devices, PCs, and phones.   

Role Description

As a software developer, you will work to add new features and improve existing features of the systems that support our content discovery experience. You will collaborate with developers in small, autonomous teams to build systems that are used by millions of people every day. You would be part of our rapidly growing Global Entertainment Engineering Organization that is responsible for the full stack and operationalization of high-profile products and services at Comcast. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working as part of a team responsible for design, implementation and delivery of action resolution systems that support our flagship products like Xfinity Voice Remote, Sky Voice Remote and the Xfinity Assistant.   

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain web services in a microservice architecture at a large-scale handling millions of requests per day. 

  • Serve as a technical liaison for internal and external customers and business partners. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • Must-have: Experience with programming in Java and/or Kotlin.  

  • Familiarity with Spring, JUnit, Maven, Git and the like. 

  • Familiarity with REST web services and Micro service frameworks like Spring Boot. 

  • Preferred Majors: Computer Science and related fields

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university

  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)

  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)

  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Salary:

Base Pay: $32.00
