Job Description:

Join General Dynamics IT (GDIT) and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Code 50 White Collar (Machinery Controls) program is seeking a Computer Engineer to join us in Philadelphia, PA.

In this role you will support the development, modernization, and life cycle maintenance of control systems across various platforms:

  • Providing software lifecycle support following the System Engineering Process with applicable Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI) and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards and specifications.

  • Using software version control tools.

  • Providing remote and on-site troubleshooting and root cause analysis support for other ship systems interfaced to CS/IS.

  • Performing troubleshooting on various electronic equipment such as computer hardware, computer operating systems, computer peripherals, various electronic sensors, terminal box wiring, cable wiring, electronic circuits, contact closure devices, and mechanical/electronic switches.

  • Assessing and troubleshooting various HM&E equipment and systems to determine impact upon software development and maintenance.

  • Implementing and tracking test failures and issues in the System Problem/Improvement Report (SPIR) database.

  • Developing technical plans and solutions for complex obsolescence problems. Updating and maintaining plan as project progresses.

  • Providing engineering services for the development and/or refinement of data analysis techniques, including monitoring, diagnostics, prognostics, data mining, and modeling.

  • Providing software and hardware engineering and technical services for CBM+ systems.

  • Participating in technical meetings and program reviews to provide action-item-tracking support and to draft meeting minutes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 3+ years of professional experience in research, design, development, andtesting of computer hardware and software programs and computer networks; Experience must include knowledge of microcomputers and Local Area Networks.

  • Security + certification
