University of Pennsylvania Clinical Informatics Instructor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Instructor positions in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Requirements include successful completion of a medical or surgical residency in a US or Canadian ACGME-accredited program in one of the following specialties:

internal medicine or internal medicine subspecialties including but not limited to the following disciplines: cardiovascular disease; gastroenterology; infectious diseases; nephrology; critical care medicine; pulmonary disease, pediatrics or a pediatric subspecialty, emergency medicine, family medicine, pathology or pathology specialties, surgical or surgical specialties.

Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board certified or eligible through a member organization of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) in a medical or surgical specialty as listed above.

Responsibilities may include the practice of clinical informatics in inpatient, ambulatory, emergency, and other care settings. During rotations, fellows will work closely with distinguished faculty on projects in clinical decision support, data analytics/science, and innovation. The fellow will also engage in research and other scholarly activities.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop an individual training experience in research and mentoring that allows the individual to attain personal career objectives while developing a career in clinical informatics in an academic medicine setting.

This instructor position is contingent upon the candidate being admitted to CHOP’s fellowship program in Clinical Informatics.
