Chemical Loading Operator -- Frankford

Position Summary

The Chemical Loading Operator performs all aspects of safely transferring bulk liquid chemical products to and from trucks, rail, and barges

Summary of the Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and proper handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with plant requirements
  • Provid efficient and traceable movement of in-bound and out-bound company products
  • Load and unload hazardous liqParticipate uid chemical trucks, rail car to ensure unit safety, quality and production goals are met
  • Responsible to take and interpret readings on various equipment, assessing any variation, standard troubleshooting, and taking action to address and return process to standard
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and clean work environment for areas of responsibllity
  • Responsible for performing minor running maintenance of plant equipment

Participate as member of the Emergency Response Tean (ERT), including fire brigade and HazMat technician

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years of experience in Chemical Manufacturing or a 2-year certificale/degree in manufacturing is preferred
  • Avility to obtain a TWIC card

Additional Qualifications

  • Chemical operations background/experience is strongly preferred (at least 1 year)
  • Ability to work on 12-hour rotating shift schedule that includes overnight and weekends
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humd, rain, snow ,etc)
  • Ability to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protective equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket and acid pants) -- full face respirator and hood
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to perform physical labor associated with jobs
  • Ability to work at elevated heights -- greater than 50 feet
  • Comfortable working and entering in confined spaces
  • Strong work ethic and initiative to learn processes
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take correct action within an industrial setting
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a safe workspace based on following standard work
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and successfully complete tasks of progressive responsibility and complexity
  • Ability to use basic computer applications
