As Business Systems Analyst Lead you will run critical projects and drive solutions to completion. This role will allow you to focus on principles of business analysis and be an integral part of AmeriHealth’s continued growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides ongoing support for an assigned set of systems/technologies (e.g. data mapping, configuration, queries). Serves as a SME for all components of a major ERP system “Oracle -PeopleSoft", understanding how the information is used and how the system(s) may need to be adapted to changes in business processes.

  • Participates in estimation efforts to formulate and define the scope of IS team deliverables.

  • May lead teams that provide production support for internally developed and vendor developed applications.

  • Participates in the change management process playing a lead role as needed.

  • Leverage industry knowledge and client relationships to assess the business implications of project(s) to current and future business environment and to identify new business opportunities.

  • Provides proactive functional consulting support to an area of the business, leading the planning effort for how technology will support the business’ strategic objective.

  • Resolves conflicting/competing needs from different areas of the business, tactfully, and in a way that satisfies all parties.

  • Conducts complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the business processes and anticipating implementation obstacles.

  • Provides mentorship, guidance, and technical knowledge to more junior team members.

  • Leads efforts to define functional requirements and design innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems.

  • Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.

  • Conducts complete diagnosis of most business problems, factoring in a strong understanding of the business processes and anticipating implementation obstacles.Capable of helping user clarify, develop, and plan for their current and future technology needs.

  • Assigns work to others.

  • May lead team members to provide production or systems support.

  • Provides time/resource estimates for assigned projects.

  • Recommends investments in new tools or the adoption of new processes/methodologies.

  • Advises management on contract staffing variances and negotiates a successful resolution.

  • Contributes to strategic growth plans for the organization (RFP, etc.).

Qualifications / Education:

  • At least eight (8)+ years of relevant experience required.

  • Serves as subject matter expert within IS on the work processes for assigned area(s) of the business including how systems are used, how information flows, how decisions are made, the future roadmap(s), and how the systems may need to be adapted to changes in the business, etc.

  • Possesses advanced expertise in requirements elicitation via interviewing and workshop facilitation and requirements determination using structured techniques for documentation, analysis.

  • Can define/manage scope and business expectations, requirements change management and traceability.

  • Can develop and communicate a vision for project/ system, providing thought leadership.

  • Possesses expert understanding of the applications environments and the project life cycle, processes, and methodologies.

  • Possesses working knowledge of the strategic plans/initiatives of various business units, and/or can quickly come up to speed on the strategies and critical success factors for a business unit.

  • Understands the business impact of different solutions and can assess and communicate the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, costs, and risk.

  • Maintains an understanding of business plans and strategies of competitors and of industry in general.

  • Experience in healthcare administration or a healthcare environment preferred.

  • Experienced in a full lifecycle implementation of PeopleSoft or other ERP solution.

  • Demonstrated skill in office tools for communicating process changes and modifications.

  • Ability to clearly communicate technical data in a clear and concise manner to senior level resources.

  • Previous experience with HR / Finance systems knowledge, terminology, processes preferred.

  • Previous experience with ITIL knowledge, terminology, processes preferred.

  • Tests own work and contributes to the development of test plans and participates in post-implementation reviews.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent years of relevant work experience.

  • CBAP or PMI-PBA certifications highly preferred.
