A Brief Overview Positioned at the core of one of the country's foremost children's hospitals, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP's) rapidly growing general pediatric hospitalist program offers tremendous depth and breadth of clinical activities.

Our hospitalists have the opportunity to work in one or more of a variety of settings including attending-only general pediatric services, surgical co-management team, complex care, and/or sedation services. Pediatric hospitalists have the opportunity to participate in a wide array of educational, research and quality/safety programs offered both within the section and throughout the institution.

We seek to support a strong, life-long career trajectory for our hospitalists through formal mentorship, active involvement in a vibrant community of over 70 pediatric hospitalists, as well as identification of opportunities for individuals to focus on areas of particular interests. We have flexible scheduling with openings for mixed day/night work, nocturnists, weekendists as well as either part- or full-time positions.

What you will do Direct Clinical Activities Provide direct patient care to hospitalized children Diagnose and treat common inpatient pediatric conditions Complete thorough and timely medical documentation in the EHR (Epic) Triage urgent changes in patient's clinical status and utilize rapid response team or pediatric code team when necessary Provide general pediatric consultation to other services including surgery May supervise clinical providers including medical students, resident physicians Advanced Practice Providers and provide performance feedback in all aspects of clinical functions Educational Activities (if indicated) May provide support and leadership for resident/medical student/Advanced Practice Provider education curriculum and program implementation Research Activities (if indicated) May participate in scholarship activities within the Section of Hospital Medicine. These include but are not limited to: o Quality improvement projects, including clinical pathway design committees o Research projects in PHM Administrative Activities (if indicated) Other Duties as Assigned. Education Qualifications Doctorate Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine Required Skills and Abilities Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices and protocols as well as applicable regulations and guidelines. Knowledge of computer systems and applications Skills in exercising initiative, judgment, p oblem solving, decision-making Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients and the public Excellent verbal and written communications skills
