Position Description/Posting Details FA158PSTThe La Salle School of Nursing and Health Sciences invites qualified candidates to apply for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in Graduate Nursing who serves as the Nurse Anesthesia Assistant Program Director. The Nurse Anesthesia Assistant Program Director will support the Nurse Anesthesia Program Director and the organizational administration of the post- BSN to DNP program by participation in leadership and oversight within all aspects of the program including governance, didactic and clinical curriculum, recruitment, and evaluation. The La Salle DNP curriculum emphasizes innovative and evidence-based nursing practice to meet the demands of an increasingly complex health care system and to improve the safety and quality of care delivery. This position will be a 9 month faculty appointment with a 12 month secondary appointment as Assistant Program Director. This faculty position is contingent on the incumbent serving in the Assistant Program Director role. * Assist with leadership and direction for the post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program ensuring compliance with COA and CCNE accreditation standards. * Assume role of the Program Director in the Program Director's absence. * Assist with the preparation of internal and external regulatory and accreditation reports, in addition to the Program Annual Report, in collaboration with the Program Director, Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences, Chair of the Graduate Nursing Program, and the Coordinator of the DNP Program. * Collaborate with the Program Director, the Chair of the Graduate Nursing Program, and Coordinator of the DNP Program, to determine faculty workload and to develop and monitor a budget that ensures adequate operating expenses and academic resources. * Assist in the development of post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia curriculum materials within regulatory and professional guidelines. * Assist in the preparation of the course roster for each semester in coordination with the Program Director and the Chair of the Graduate Program. * Participate in the refinement of the post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program including review of course syllabi and student evaluations of courses. * Oversee outcome measurements for the post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program in accordance with the Nursing Program Systematic Plan of Program Evaluation. * Participate in marketing and recruitment efforts for the Program. * Assist in the development and implementation of policies related to admission, progression, sequencing, and remediation of classroom and clinical practice components of the post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program. * Participate in recruitment, selection, and enrollment of students. * Participate in the monitoring of post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia student progression through formative and summative evaluation procedures. * Assist in the attainment of affiliation agreements/contracts for off-campus clinical sites as well as off-campus clinical coordinators and preceptors. * Teach at the graduate level in the post-BSN to DNP Nurse Anesthesia Program and across other graduate level nursing courses as assigned. * Aid in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the simu ation curriculum * Mentor students completing the DNP Project. * Maintain competency within anesthesia practice area. * Expectations for scholarship will be identified for rank according to university and school guidelines. * Service to School and University is expected in the form of committees, accreditation activities, etc. * Five or more years of clinical experience in the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) role. * Pre-licensure master's or doctoral degree with a Nurse Anesthesia major from a regionally accredited institution and nationally accredited nurse anesthesia program (or equivalent) with graduate preparation in the basic and clinical sciences relevant to nurse anesthesia practice. * Demonstrated record of professional and clinical experience, instruction (teaching), curriculum, evaluation development, and scholarship. * Knowledge of current CRNA practice and related professional issues. * Current knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation requirements for nurse anesthesia educational programs. * Earned doctorate in nursing or related field from an institution of higher education accredited by an agency officially recognized by the US Secretary of Education to accredit institutions at the time the degree was conferred. * A current unencumbered license to practice as a registered professional nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Pennsylvania. * Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) licensure by the NBCRNA. * Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment. * Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University and diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice initiatives. * Current BLS, ACLs and PALs certifications * Experience as a faculty member in a nursing education program * Experience with virtual or distance teaching * Experience with simulation in nursing or nurse anesthesia education * The Assistant Program Director is a 12 month position. * Weekend or evening work may be required in certain situations.
