Position Description/Posting Details FA143PSTThe School of Arts and Sciences at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a Tenure Track TT Assistant Professor for its CACREP-accredited M.A. Program in Professional Clinical Counseling PCC with an intended start date of August 2025. The position is a full-time, tenure-track 9-month appointment. La Salle University believes in a personal, practical, and professional graduate education, and occurs in the context of the Lasallian tradition focusing on excellence in teaching and concern for both ultimate values and for the individual values of its students. * Teach courses in the PCC program. The contractual teaching load is 24 credits per academic year with course reduction allowances for pre-tenured faculty. Summer teaching is available as overload. * Participate in program development and student advisement to students at all stages of the PCC program. * Teach Marriage and Family Therapy MFT as well as Social Work MSW students who take courses with PCC students. * Engage in scholarly research, service to the university, and service to the profession of counseling. * Serve as the primary Chapter Faculty Advisor CFA to the Chi Sigma Beta Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota international honor society.
- Teach undergraduate courses in the Psychology program, as part of the faculty load or overloads.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to build community within the PCC and MFT programs. The ideal candidate will have a social justice orientation to teaching and practice, with an agenda to support and empower marginalized communities within and beyond La Salle.
- Perform other duties as assigned as it relates to the growth of the Program.
- Candidates must possess a doctoral degree Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, Counselor Education and Human Development, or a closely related doctoral degree from a CACREP accredited doctoral program.
- ABD candidates will be considered but the completion of all degree requirements must be satisfied prior to the start date.
- Candidates must be licensed or license eligible as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania
- The ability to articulate a solid identity as a counselor and counselor educator

- Strong record of teaching and commitment to experientially-based clinical education
- A record of social advocacy and/or demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and social justice initiatives and social justice initiatives.
- Experience with CACREP accreditation and meeting accreditation standards in core courses.
- Active membership and engagement with counseling professional organizations ex. ACA, Divisions of ACA, CSI, AMHCA, AASECT, state counseling associations
- Continued clinical work, supervision, and/or consultation via private practice or an agency
- Commitment to experientially based clinical education.

Evening hours will be required, since the MA Program courses run 4:30-7pm & 7:30-10pm in the Fall/Spring and 6-9:30pm in the Summer.
