Pee Wee Prep Educational Center Assistant Group Supervisor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

 

Qualifications/Requirements: An exceptional assistant teacher will be able to perform all essential duties and meet the following educational standards:

  • Have High school diploma and enrolled in college in the educational field; and/or have a CDA; or have a high school diploma and plan to enroll in school with 6 months of employment
  • Can successfully write an essay with limited to no grammatical errors.
  • A minimum of two years' experience (one must be in a child care setting or educational facility)
  • Two letters of reference from non-family members.
  • Attend one day New Hire orientation session (date TBA)
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in all educational activities
  • Assist the Lead teacher in planning, developing and implementing fun, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate monthly themes, PA Learning standards and meet students' individual needs. (Create activities to enhance children motivation to learn).
  • Ensure that the children are supervised at all times
  • Interact with the students at all times
  • Assist the lead teacher in creating a clean, safe, healthy and nurturing environment conducive to learning through proper room arrangements, constant interaction and guidance and redirection of undesirable behavior to promote positive socialization.
  • Assisting the Lead teacher in finding outlets to help children who are having difficulty or need special care.
  • Act as a resource for parents by supplying them with information on upcoming event and making proper referrals to parents who are seeking help for their children who are having physical, behavioral or mental health issues.
  • Become an active member of an orgarrization within a year of employment
  • Continue to participate in a minimum of 18 yearly hours of training to continually update his/her skills so that they can instruct their students using the most updated technology and methods of learning.
  • Attend all meetings, workshops and trainings scheduled by the director/supervisor
  • Read and Follow Keystone STARS guidelines for age group
  • Maintain online PDR and attend a minimum of one training per month.
