Job Summary Reporting to the Director, Strategic University Events, the Assistant Director, Strategic University Events will provide a high level of operational support to the Strategic University Events team in the planning and execution of events, athletics suite hospitality, academic ceremonies and high-level programs and experiences.

Areas of focus include but are not limited to all aspects of event planning and execution, oversight of suite hospitality operations for home football and men's basketball games, maintenance of regalia inventory, management of event builds, registration processes, event reporting, and onsite event support as needed. In addition, the Assistant Director may assign event-related duties to student workers and mentor them through job-related projects.

This position will staff and work events and interact with leadership and high-level guests, donors and constituents. The Assistant Director will serve as a resource to university colleagues and the offices of the president and provost to support, coordinate and enhance operational procedures and engagement efforts. Other duties will be performed as assigned.

Required Education and Experience * Bachelor's degree * At least three years of directly related experience; * Experience executing successful events and experiences for a variety of audiences. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities * Excellent written and verbal communications skills * Ability to establish and maintain operational systems and procedures, and ensure adherence to same * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically forms and Excel, familiarity with social media platforms and online communications. * Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward simultaneously. * Results-oriented, facts-driven, with high energy and drive, a positive attitude, and excellent listening skills * Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of constituencies. * Promotes a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
