Job Summary The Assistant Coach will be responsible for on-field coaching, individual player development, scouting and video analysis for the Men's Lacrosse program, recruiting prospective student-athletes, alumni and community outreach, and help monitoring the academic and student-welfare for the program among other administrative and coaching responsibilities. Specific responsibilities to be assigned under the direction of the Head Men's Lacrosse Coach. Essential Functions Assist the Head Coach in directing an effective varsity athletic program in all aspects. Assist in the teaching, coaching, training, and motivating the program's student-athlete to perform at the highest level through organized and individual team sessions in-season and out-of-season as deemed necessary and appropriate. Help foster an environment within the program that supports the department's mission of personal growth and integrity, diversity, leadership, sportsmanship, respect, and a commitment to academic and athletic excellence. Assist with breaking down game film and scouting opponents. Responsible for knowing and abiding by NCAA, CAA and University rules and regulations. Assist with continued fundraising and development efforts and create new initiatives as dictated by program. Assist with distributing fundraising-related correspondence, conducting alumni outreach and coordinating fundraising and alumni events. Recruit prospective student-athletes by organizing official visits, participating in unofficial visits, coordinating travel and communication. Act as liaison to Academic Support to monitor academic progress of student-athletes. Act as liaison with Compliance in regards to Admissions & Financial Aid; admissions pre-reads. Assist with Compliance Rules by completing weekly participation and practice reports. Coordinate and oversee team travel including itineraries, organizing meals, travel practices, transportation and accommodations. Assists with social media for program. Assist with organization and publicizing Camps and Clinics. Other Men's lacrosse administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach. Required Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Please review the Equivalency Chart for additional information.) Minimum of 2 years of collegiate playing and/or coaching experience. Competent knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Strong organizational and administrative skills. Valid Driver's License. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with offensive and/or specialist units. 4 years of collegiate coaching experience. Experience recruiting prospective D1 student-athletes. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Ability to bend, crouch, stoop. Location University City, Philadelphia PA Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt.
