Job Title: Accountant

Department: Radiation Oncology

Location: Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania- 3400 Spruce St (hybrid model - 3 days in office and 2 days offsite)

Hours : Full Time

Summary:

  • This accounting role will have a large focus on the accounts payable and Hospital contracts with vendors in the department. This role will be performing basic accounting functions related to monthly financial close and various analytics. This position will work under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and will support operational staff at varying management levels with general accounting and budgeting needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and maintain accounts payable for the dept and ensure vendors are paid in timely manner.

  • Maintain a schedule of contracts to be paid to vendors and ensure that payments are reconciled and paid.

  • Assist in monthly close and process journal entries. Prepare variance explanations along with analytics of KPI’s in the department

  • Provide general financial support and training for financial systems such as Lawson, Hyperion, Smart View and Essbase.

  • Develop analytical reports, as requested.

  • Prepare and perform quarterly reports and budget tasks.

  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization

Credentials:

Education or Equivalent Experience:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required) Education Specialization: Accounting/Finance

  • And 1+ years in Accounting and/or budget preparation experience
