University of Pennsylvania Academic Clinician, Associate Professor(s) or Full Professor(s), Pediatric Emergency Medicine, CHOP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or must be Board-Eligible. Rank will be commensurate with experience.

Teaching responsibilities may include participating in the clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows as a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing direct patient care in an Emergency Department that has an annual volume of 100,000 visits. Clinical employment opportunities in Pediatric Emergency Medicine are also being offered at both our clinical affiliate institutions, Virtua Voorhees, in Southern New Jersey and our new King of Prussia Center in King of Prussia, PA. Positions at Virtua Voorhees and King of Prussia will include an academic appointment, as well as clinical shifts in the CHOP Emergency Department. The distribution of clinical activity at CHOP and the designated clinical affiliate is negotiable and can be tailored to the interests of the applicant but significant time away from CHOP Main should be expected. Candidates are expected to be knowledgeable of current ED studies and participate in patient enrollment, as needed.

Experience working in a large, complex medical system is preferred. Ideal candidates should also have comfort and flexibility in caring for a wide range of pediatric diagnoses. Effective communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams are essential.
