• Transport passengers from one point to another following an established itinerary and time schedule.
• Operate the door, collect fares, communicate with dispatchers, handle mechanical problems, be prepared for emergency situations, and maintain the vehicle in good condition.
• Safely guide their buses in all traffic and weather conditions.
• Inspect buses before the start of a shift, obey traffic laws, adhere to schedules despite conditions and ensure that passengers pay correct fares for tickets or transfers.
• Announce next destinations.
• Deal with unruly passengers.
• Stop frequently, often only a few blocks apart and when a passenger requests a stop.
