As a Technical Trainer - Operations, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating initial and ongoing technical training. You'll be at the forefront of imparting knowledge that supports our mission to uphold Midcontinent ISO (MISO), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and Regional Reliability Standards.

Essential Responsibilities:

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct engaging and interactive training sessions in classroom and simulation settings for Initial and Continuing Education

  • Champion strong safety and human performance behaviors

  • Provide one-on-one mentorship, guiding learners through real-world challenges and projects

  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including presentations, hands-on exercises, simulations, and assessments

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry knowledge, trends, and technologies to deliver cutting-edge training to SCOs

  • Obtain and maintain NERC Certification

  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Minimum two-year technical degree in engineering, mathematics, ocomputer science or education; equivalent experience will be considered

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in operating a power system in a control center environment or an equivalent combination of control center experience and relevant field experience

  • Previous teaching, training, or mentoring experience is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction and effective analytical, deductive reasoning, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, and database software a plus
