American Transmission Company Sr. Network System Engineer in Pewaukee, Wisconsin

Summary of Responsibilities:

We’re looking for a Sr. Network Systems Engineer to join our growing team as we lead the renewable energy transition to ensure exceptional reliability for tomorrow .In this role, you'll operate, maintain and enhance a complex multi-site systems infrastructure that supports all application and data services for our technology intensive organization. You will use your balanced set of networking and data center skills including voice, telecom, IP networking, WiFi, automation, and software defined datacenter infrastructure to work with a small multi-disciplinary team to design and implement new solutions, perform periodic hardware and software updates, expand capacity to support rapid growth, plan for disasters, monitor health and respond to issues to support mission critical services. Familiarity with systems engineering or cloud/virtual hosting would potentially be helpful in this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

You’ll use your bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related field and expert-level industry certifications. Although a degree is preferred, we will consider related experience and education in lieu of a degree. You will build, test, configure, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure equipment, including routers, switches, voice gateways, and optical equipment as well as provisioning and performance testing of communication circuits. Communication is critical as you collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure services meet business requirements for availability, performance and compatibility. You’ll also create and maintain technical design and support documentation, repair and recover from system failures, perform routine service monitoring, and record findings and take corrective action if needed. Our network engineers also administer and support ATC’s Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery plans and provide On-Call Support of 24/7x365 System Operations via a weekly rotational schedule.
