Reference #: 1179971600 BASIC FUNCTION:

Conducts complex accounting assignments for the Accounting department with minimal supervision and acts as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (functions considered essential as defined by ADA)

Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures Maintains General Ledger accounts and prepares various General Ledger account reconciliations Balances the intercompany accounts Prepares financial statements and provides written fluctuation analytics Provides support for the monthly physical inventory and inventory valuation process Oversees the Fixed Asset Subsidiary Ledger Performs month end closing tasks within the closing deadlines Performs various assigned financial calculations Prepares and monitors various expense and production variance reports and resolves discrepancies as needed Provides continuous oversight and support of budget and forecast activities Completes and may supervise special projects as required Maintains up-to-date detailed procedures for performing assigned tasks and training others Cross trains to perform backup duties within the Accounting Department

Special assignments projects or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of three years of job-related accounting work experience is required.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Strong cost accounting skills. Background in SAP or similar applications. Experience working in an industrial facility.

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field.

PREFERRED EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

CPA designation is preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Ability to perform complex accounting analysis and mathematical calculations. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products. Experience with accounting and depending on assignment, maintenance software. Broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Advanced reading and writing skills. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGERIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must be able to manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency.

WORK CONDITIONS:

Office based and occasional work in a petroleum refinery. May be required to work flexible hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Job conditions require sitting, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, perceiving color differences, and the ability to wear personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).Job conditions may require standing, walking, and lifting and/or carrying up to 25 lbs.
