District 19 Community Service Board Forensic Coordinator in Petersburg, Virginia

District 19 Community Services Board is seeking an experienced Forensic Coordinator.

Essential job duties include:developing, managing and overseeing conditional release plans for Acquittees that were found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), Prepare reports and letters to the court and Department of Behavioral Health and Disability Services (DBHDS) as required for NGRI Acquittees and Restoration to Competency consumers. Provide forensic case management, court ordered outpatient restoration services, crisis intervention and stabilization, pre-screenings, representation of the CSB at court and involuntary commitment hearings, discharge planning and short-term counseling. This position requires meeting with consumers in the community including their place of residence, Psychosocial programs, local jails, state hospitals, and agency office.

Successful applicant must:

-Be Licensedor License Eligible(Registered with Board of Counseling). -Masters degree thatleads to Licensure in human services (which includes social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and human services counseling) -Requirements to obtainCertification as a Pre-Admission Screening Evaluator within four weeks of hire, experience in working with seriously mentally ill in a mental health setting and forensic patient service planning -Knowledge of the Virginia Code as it relates to temporary detentions and involuntary commitments, of assessment and diagnosis, and of substance abuse -Certification eligibility as a crisis pre-screener -Experience working with SMI population providing case management outreach, and preferably forensic counseling -Basic computer skills -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This position requires travel to multiple sites located throughout the District 19 catchment area to include occasional out of catchment areas.

Preferred qualification: licensed as an LPC, LMFT OR LCSW.

Salary: Position is a Grade C9, starting salary for Licensed Eligible is $57,967.00. Salary for Licensed C10 starts at $$62,899.00. Salaries are negotiable.

District 19 Community Service Board is a qualifying employer for public service loan forgiveness (PSLF). PSLF is a federal program available to full-time government and nonprofit employees who have Federal Direct Loansand have made 120 payments on the Federal Direct Loans (after Oct. 1, 2007) may be eligible for the remaining loan balance to be forgiven. Position requires valid Driver's License in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher, and an extensive pre-employment background check and drug screening.
