District 19 CSB is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to function as a member of an interdisciplinary ACT (Assertive Community Treatment) team that serves adults with severe and persistent mental illness in the Petersburg/Tri Cities area. This member of the multidisciplinary team is responsible for: conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical health needs, providing administration of intramuscular medication, obtaining lab work and following-up with results, providing care coordination between various service providers in the community, maintaining accurate documentation (including audits of staff) and accuracy of ACT MDR, coordinating medication deliveries and communicating with local pharmacies to ensure accuracy of medication deliveries, writing appropriate referrals to community physicians and providing range of treatment rehabilitation and support services,

Position provides community-based psychiatric treatment and will require entering homes and/or community centers, medication delivery, medication education and monitoring activities, daily living assistance, injections, and family support and case management.

Successful applicant must be licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Virginia. Must have a minimum of an Associate degree in nursing. Applicant must also have at least one year of work experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting. Valid drivers license in the state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher. Good organizational skills, experience as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Basic computer skills (word, excel, etc.).

Must be able to provide phlebotomy services, administration of intramuscular medication, supportive counseling, have knowledge of psychotropic medication uses, side effects, and potential interactions. Knowledge of community-based services required as well as some out of office work.

Travel to consumers residences required, with agency vehicle provided or mileage reimbursement for personal vehicle.

Must have a current State of Virginia license to practice as a Registered Nurse. Required to obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Must have the ability to tolerate light lifting, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing stairs.

Salary: Position is a Grade C9; starting annual salary is $57,967. Salary is negotiable.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
