Summary

The primary purpose of the Area Coordinator is to coordinate activities necessary to protect the company’s brand. This includes, but is not limited to, animal welfare, bio-security, USDA PVP, sustainably farmed, organic, certified humane, GAP, NPIP AI, environmental, etc. The Area Coordinator is responsible for documenting Perdue's compliance and proactive measures to minimize the company's exposure.

The Area Coordinator supports and maintains the MTECH live production system and ensures data accuracy. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all activities around the field technician. The Area Coordinator will also support additional initiatives deemed necessary by management in order to maintain competitiveness and drive improvements in the business unit. The Area Coordinator opportunity offers a salary range of 80K - 90K (DOE), a management incentive program, company vehicle, company credit card, and great benefits!

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to drive to live operation facilities up to 1200 miles per week and travel throughout poultry houses and hatcheries to monitor house conditions such as, but not limited to, ventilation, litter condition, bird health, water, and feed availability.

  • Live Operations Poultry Care Officer for the USDA PVP Program.

  • Manage all audit and certification documents, records, and logistics.

  • Ensure all record keeping and timetables are met relative to NPIP AI pre-harvest testing and any additional documentation required for AI compliance.

  • Direct all initiatives within the growout office relating to on and off farm bio-security, including consistent program implementation. An annual bio-security audit will be conducted in conjunction with the regional veterinarian.

  • Utilization of the MTECH production system within the gowout department. Provide direct support in generating and analyzing MTECH information. Provide support in the area of field electronic data collection.

  • Manage ranch and hatchery environmental initiatives for compliance purposes.

  • Standardize and update all departmental reporting and paperwork across hatchery, ranches, and growout office when updates are issued.

  • Manage daily operations of one company broiler farm and support growout manager routes during vacancies.

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or Agricultural Studies.

Experience Requirements

  • 2+ years related experience.

  • Good communication (oral and written), reading, math and analytical skills.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Should be computer literate with skills in Microsoft.

  • Must be able to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Must be able to travel to other facilities and plant locations.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds (lbs.).

  • Must be able to function in all types of weather conditions.

  • Must be able to adapt to environmental conditions associated with poultry houses and hatchery, such as, but not limited to, varying production temperatures, dust and air quality associated with poultry production.

When in a plant environment:

  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

  • May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

  • Exposure to chicken manure and associated odors, including ammonia, especially in the production houses.

  • Required to perform moderate physical exertion to include pushing pulling and lifting up to 75 lbs.

  • Must be able to climb to a height of 30' as well as significant amount of bending, lifting and stooping.
