General Purpose:
Perform a variety of maintenance duties with specialization in the area of general maintenance and basic maintenance of workplace vehicles and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain business property and outside grounds – clean front of shop and overhead doors (pad as needed), clean along fencing and remove all debris, perform weed control in summer and snow removal in winter, maintain parking lot as needed, provide rodent and pest control, and perform other miscellaneous duties
Maintain shop and work bay space daily – sweep all areas, bays (bays 1-7, wash bay, work bay in new building) and buildings; empty all trash cans; organize and remove materials and tools not being use; pick up shear cutoffs as needed; empty scrap into bins and trailers; and perform other duties as assigned
Maintain forklift and yard trucks – maintain adequate fuel levels, check oil levels weekly, grease necessary parts monthly, and change oil 2 times per year
Maintain furnace filters – clean and/or replace as needed (more frequently during high usage months) and report any issues to supervisor
Maintain water filter in shop by changing filter monthly and reporting any issues to supervisor
Troubleshoot lighting issues and replace if needed
Organize metal products on racks when received
Maintain clean drinking fountains for shop employees by cleaning daily
Ensure all repairs are documented
Complete work orders as assigned (general repairs, run errands, pick up supplies, etc.)
Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive
Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment
Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity.
Attend required training, including but not limited to, Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF)

Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience
§ High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
§ Mechanical background preffered
- Certification and/or License – N/A
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of machine shop equipment
Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork
Able to follow directions and meet deadlines
Able to perform all required preventative, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
Able to demonstrate abilities to perform in a safe, positive, systematic fashion
Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
