JOB SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor will supervise activities of assigned department(s) with respect to safety, quality and cost while meeting production schedules, production volume and cleanliness.

ESSENTIALJOBFUNCTIONS:

  1. Will act as the senior Safety, Quality and Production representative for their assigned product lines(s).

  2. Will ensure that high standards of safety are developed, met and maintained as well as conduct regular safety meetings.

  3. Oversee and train all operators on assigned product lines to the safety, quality, and production requirements of each work instruction. Conduct daily audits of employees to ensure compliance.

  4. Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries.

  5. Attend and support the Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

  6. Will conduct employee evaluations and establish accountabilities and goals as required.

  7. Will engage and stimulate maximum efficiency and productivity of production workers.

  8. Will maintain adherence to Company policies and procedures, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.

  9. Will assist maintenance and Engineering team when needed, ensuring that machinery, equipment, fixtures and facilities are properly maintained by responsible personnel for efficient production and safety while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

  10. Will assure that assigned product lines and buildings receive proper start up/shutdown protocols in accordance with procedures and guidelines.

  11. Will foster Lean Operating Principles and 5S on the production floor. Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.

  12. Will recommend the promotion, demotion, termination, transferring and disciplinary action of production employees as required in a fair and consistent manner per policy.

  13. Will comply with proper management of hazardous waste including packaging, labeling, segregation, and temporary storage.

  14. Will maintain good employee relations and adherence to Affirmative Action Plan, Labor Laws, and EEO rules and regulations.

  15. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  1. Bachelors degree preferred; high school diploma/GED required

  2. Well-developed interpersonal skills and sound administrative skills

  3. Good communication skills, both oral and written

  4. Solid math and reading skills

  5. Attentive to accuracy and detail

  6. Ability to keep information confidential

  7. Results oriented

  8. Ability to establish credibility and be decisive

  9. Good organizational skills and strong reasoning abilities

  10. Ability to lead and develop others

  11. Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Outlook

  12. General mechanical knowledge a plus

  13. At least one year manufacturing management or supervision experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Must be able to submit to and pass a drug test and background screening pursuant to Company policy (includes random testing throughout employment).

  2. Must have good vision (may be corrected)

  3. Must be able to detect and discern audible pages, warning codes etc. in a production plant

  4. Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time

  5. Must be able to endure fumes that are within OSHA accepted standards

  6. Must be able to reach overhead and outward to place or retrieve an item

  7. Must have stamina to work more than the scheduled workday when needed

  8. Must be able to manage employees across multiple physical locations on campus. This includes making multiple trips per shift between locations either on foot, or using company provided transportation.

  9. Must be physically present at work during business hours

  10. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  11. Must be able to pick up, handle, manipulate, work with, control, use, maneuver, assemble or manage very small items

  12. Must be able to use general hand tools

  13. Must be able to bend and stoop

  14. Must be able to drive a car, truck or golf cart

  15. Must be able to travel off site

  16. Must be able to endure weather and temperature extremes
