The Opportunity:

The Corporate Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst will be responsible for facilitating strategic finance initiatives, including implementation of a new enterprise financial reporting and ERP system. This individual will represent Caterpillar’s Financial Analysis and Reporting Group, working in tandem with the Global Finance Strategy team to implement management reporting processes that support corporate, segment and business unit requirements. Additional responsibilities include support of enterprise accountable methodology and analysis, and review of certain externally reported information, including the quarterly earnings release and elements of the 10-Q/10-K. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner across the enterprise to support key projects related to Global Finance strategy initiatives

  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, driving connectivity between teams on financial system transformation

  • Facilitating Caterpillar accountable methodology to divisions and business units

  • Reviewing internal and external financial communications, including the quarterly earnings release and segments results in 10-Q/10-K

  • Effectively communicating project updates to Senior Director of FP&A

  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes

What You Have:

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.

Additional Info:

  • This position can be located in our Irving, TX or Peoria, IL office

  • This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office

  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

  • Sponsorship is not available

  • Domestic travel up to 10%
