Summary About the Position: About the Position: Serve as the Assistant to the Chief, Correspondence Branch with responsibility for analyzing the caseload for the team and providing specialized advice and guidance to Congressional Actions Coordinators and performing the full range of congressional liaison assignments. This position is located at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. Responsibilities Adjust workload as needed, ensuring that each employee has an integral role in developing the final team product. Assign, coordinate, review, and evaluate the work of Congressional Actions Coordinators. Conduct initial training to new action officers and arrange for the training of team members for specific administrative or technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual or team tasks. Manage the Divisions incoming inquiries email account to include identifying urgent requests and redirecting actions more appropriately worked by other divisions in the organization. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes report on the status and/or progress of work being performed; conduct training regarding congressional casework topics; manage correspondence in varied stages of completion that cover diverse functional areas; and prepare reports to evaluate effectiveness of the team's success. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) Human Capital Management Planning and Evaluating Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
