THE POSITION

Wayne County Area Agency on Aging is looking for a Van Driver to interact and provide a necessary service to residents in need of door-to-door transportation service. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a part-time Van Driver, you will be tasked with enhancing the mobility of consumers by providing professional and accessible transportation in a safe, reliable, comfortable, and courteous manner. Work includes independently operating a county vehicle an average of 150 miles each day. This is an opportunity to provide transportation services as well as social contact for our consumers. Excellent communication skills are required, both person to person and via two-way radio. You must have patience and the ability to assist consumers, including senior adults and wheelchair-dependent consumers along rough payment or unpaved paths. As every day is different, you must be willing to easily adjust your daily work schedule.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Part-time employment, 14 to 21+ hours per week.

  • Work hours vary between 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with limited hours on Saturday.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of employment which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

    Conditions of Employment:

  • No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
