As part of our efforts to strengthen our connection with the local community, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern or a rotating co-op student to join our team and contribute to our community outreach initiatives.
Position Overview: The Community Engagement Intern or co-op student will play an integral role in supporting our community engagement efforts. This individual will work closely with the communications and community engagement teams across our enterprise to help strengthen relationships with local stakeholders, ensure the smooth execution of community programs, and contribute innovative ideas to improve engagement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support Communications Efforts: Assist in drafting and distributing communications materials, including community newsletters, internal application posts (X app), and social media content, to raise awareness of our community engagement programs and activities.
Community Program Coordination: Help organize and manage events, activities, and partnerships with local organizations, ensuring that all logistics and communications are coordinated effectively including the community engagement company calendar.
Process Improvement: Observe existing community engagement processes, provide thoughtful feedback, and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and impact. Apply improvements to charts, graphs, etc. to create regular consistent reporting tools.
Collaborative Team Support: Work closely with various teams across the company to coordinate community-related efforts and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Data Management and Reporting: Assist in tracking community engagement metrics, compiling data, and preparing reports to evaluate the success of programs. Act as a back up for community funding tracking.
Take Initiative: Proactively identify new opportunities to enhance community involvement, share ideas with the team, and contribute to ongoing project improvement.
Engage with Stakeholders: Interact with local community leaders, partners, and employee volunteers to build and maintain strong relationships that support the company’s community engagement goals.
Requirements:
Candidates should be full-time students working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field. Those enrolled in a master’s program are preferred.
Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2025 (for undergraduate students) and be in good academic standing.
Be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Available to work remotely up to 40 hours per week during the summer and a set schedule with a minimum of 20 hours and a maximum of 40 hours during the subsequent fall semester.
Flexibility to attend community events at various times, including during workday and evening hours, with consideration given to your school schedule.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), with the ability to create, edit, and analyze documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and manage communications efficiently.
Preferred:
Previous internship or volunteer experience in community engagement, communications, or event coordination within a business setting.
Familiarity with social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design is a plus.
