THE POSITION

In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, analyzing, interpreting, transmitting, and coordinating communications and activities to support field supervision staff. Senate Bill 411 merged the Department of Corrections and the Board of Probation and Parole. This position is within the Department of Corrections.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will operate and monitor the two-way radio system in our 24-hour operations center, assisting parole supervision staff by logging agents on and off duty, tracking the transport of parolees, and handling other requests from parole supervision staff. You will respond to messages received through various electronic means and determine appropriate responses to incoming communications, including urgent or emergency messages. Additionally, you will relay messages and communications to parole supervision staff and evaluate alert data related to potential violations by offenders under electronic monitoring. You will also maintain an accurate automated log of events during your shift related to the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network/National Crime Information Center (CLEAN/NCIC) and Justice Network (JNET), as well as radio frequency and telephone answering activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40-hour work week

  • Work hours will be discussed at the time of interview. This is a 24/7 operations unit and the work schedule will include varying shifts and days off.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $47,883.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of clerical experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirement:

  • In this position, you must obtain CLEAN and JNET certification within three months of employment and maintain these certifications for the duration of employment in this job.

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
