THE POSITION

The Southwest Regional Office of the Department of Environmental Protection is on the lookout for a dynamic and seasoned leader to enhance their Air Quality Program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary objective of this role is to ensure adherence to Federal and State Air Quality Standards within the Operations Section of the Southwest Regional Office. This will be achieved through the direct oversight of the Air Quality District Supervisors and the Air Quality Compliance Specialist, alongside providing indirect supervision to the Air Quality Specialists and Environmental Trainees within the Operations Section.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment

  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh.

  • Travel required for site visits.

  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience; or

  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Conditions of Employment:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Class C driver’s license.
