Pike Corporation Small Cell Technician (COMM) in Pembroke Pines, Florida

Position Summary: The Small Cell Technician installs, tests and troubleshoots small cell sites.

Essential Functions:

  • Install radios, base station equipment, conduit, DC power wiring and fiber optic cables on poles or at the base of pole.

  • Install and test low voltage DC power wiring and fiber optic cables.

  • Operate bucket truck, install and test cellular RF cabling and antennas.

  • Connect and rearrangecable facilities associated with aerial, buried, underground and in buildings according to engineering design by utilizing hand tools and specialized equipment.

  • Install RF cabling, radios and antennas along with associated power, fiber and signal cabling.

  • The ability to read and understand job construction drawings.

  • Technician will be the first to respond to outages and impairments and make the needed repairs as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 0-2 years’ experience in the position/career field associated with Small Cell.

  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred

  • First Aid/CPR Certification

  • RF Awareness Training

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain CDL

  • Knowledge and utilization of common advanced Telecom equipment including but not limited to: Power Meters, Sweep Meters, Multi-Meters, OTDRs and Signal Identifiers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
