Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance in our Pell City, Alabama location who will be responsible to plan, organize, direct, and control labor, materials, and processes to successfully complete Maintenance and/or Engineering work scope to support Manufacturing Operations.

Key Duties:

  • Conduct the day-to-day supervision of the maintenance department.

  • Maintain non-exempt employee records, including training, corrective actions, approving timecards and time off requests, OT approval, etc. within the department.

  • Accurately prepare and complete daily paperwork, and records associated with the Maintenance Department.

  • Monitor and ensure proper housekeeping, safety, quality of work, completion of work and cost for the Maintenance Department.

  • Effectively communicate departmental activity updates between maintenance shifts and to upstream and downstream operations.

  • Address employee work related matters within the Maintenance Department, such as training, team meetings, performance, etc. Work with HR on performance matters.

  • Train employees and plant supervisors on the proper use of production equipment and systems

  • Ensures a modification or change is not actioned on plant systems or equipment without a valid work order and/or engineering approval.

  • Assign work tasks to the maintenance team to reflect safety and production priorities and at times perform “hands on” activities.

  • Review and close work orders in the CMMS system, indicating work is completed appropriately and provide feedback on issues, root cause and action taken.

  • Provide onsite vendor liaison support to ensure safety and work verification processes are communicated and followed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 - 8 years’ experience of Industrial Mechanics/Electrical repair.

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience desired.

  • Previous leadership experience a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and CMMS systems beneficial.

  • Must be proficient with mechanical and electrical equipment installation and repair.

  • Experience in facilities maintenance, inventory control, and manufacturing.

  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills.

  • Must have strong interpersonal and team building skills.

  • Sound decision making and problem-solving capabilities required.

  • Ability to efficiently plan and coordinate employee tasks and work schedules.

  • Perform “hands on” activities when required in support of production priorities.
